Rumor has it that the name Windows Vista was picked from a narrowed selection of 4 possible names. But there may be more. So far the known names are:

  • Windows Seven
  • Windows View
  • Windows Ruby

Microsoft also registered the following:

  • Windows 07
  • Windows Sapphire
  • Windows Emerald
