You can import digital media files that are encoded by a third-party codec into Windows Movie Maker if the third-party codec is installed on the computer.
To resolve this issue, install the codec that is required to play the digital media file in Windows Movie Maker. After you install the required codec, import the file into Windows Movie Maker again.
