Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

The device is not present or was previously attached to the computer. If Device Manager is started with the environment variable DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES set to 1 (which means show these devices), any previously attached (NONPRESENT) devices are displayed in the device list and assigned this error code.

No resolution is necessary.

    This isn't very good. It doesn't give any advice for when the device IS connected and Windows says its not.

    I am receiving this code now and my dvd drive has disappeared from my list of drives in vista. There has to be a solution for this problem. To say that "no resolution is necessary" is untrue.
