Disable Welcome Center
1. Start Regedit.
2. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Run.
3. Right click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.
The next time you restart the Welcome Center will be gone.

Everytime I look up the answer to disabling the welcome center on Vista I get the same set of steps. And they don't work! It's as if the "advisees" didn't even try doing it before posting their advice. One guy said to uncheck the box at the bottom of the welcome center screen. Ha! It feels like spyware or something! (This administrator stuff is not fun for everyone; I mean it's HOME basic not office or school.)

I have repeatedly followed this step and after a few start ups welcome center comes back. I really want to get rid of it can anyone help.

Clear the box at the bottom of the welcome center screen!It won't appear again next time you start up!

It doesn't work. It comes back next time Windows starts.
